Winter Qrs near the convergence of the Big & Little Arkansas, 7 Feb 2010
Fellow Eighth Kansans,
The Eighth will be hosting a company-level muster on Saturday, March 6, on the Watkins Ranch near Cassoday, KS. Pvt. Alan Watkins has generously offered this ground for us to use & promises it to be a veritable oasis for reenacting activity. Directions to the site can be found below.
This event will be much like the one we used to do at Mine Creek & include company drill, skirmishing & eating. Lunch is on your own; dinner will be cooked on site by Executive Chef Darren “Stick of Butter” Biggs & his trusty Sous Chef Jonathon “Amish Bread” Goering. Please bring a few dollars to cover dinner costs. What’s for dinner? Keep in mind that Cassoday is considered the “Prairie Chicken Capital of the World.”
We ask that participants arrive around 9am; we’ll be done early evening.
Please contact Jim Scheidel (8thksfusilier@cox.net) if you plan to attend or have questions.
